Vision
The Q-Life group researches new ways in which information technologies can be designed and applied to enhance life quality for a wide range of individuals, in everyday life, in clinical settings and in other specific circumstances.

Mission
Our mission is to play a central role in regional, national and international organisations and projects aimed at the improvement of life quality through the application of digital technology. Within our own region we will be the centre of excellence for quality of life research and development.

Name
Q-Life stands most obviously for "quality of life", including rehabilitation, preventative approaches to medicine, and ongoing support for mental and physical wellbeing for a wide range of people and situations.

Q-Life also stands for the "quantal life", i.e. digital life, indicating our central focus on digital media and technologies and the new opportunities (and dangers) they provide.

More generally, Q-Life stands for "questioning life", that is questioning modern life. Without technology, we would not be the people we are. Digital technologies are transforming our lives, both public and personal, in almost all spheres. These changes need to be examined critically.

Q-Life brings together these elements, by focusing on new technical possibilities for enhancing the quality of life, with a questioning, research-oriented attitude. Cue: Life!
