Mikael Jakobsson: A Case of Crime and Punishment in a Virtual World

This part of the seminar will offer some insight into the thoughts on virtual worlds that has been the basis for a recent funding application and a tentative starting point for my licenciate thesis. My research in this area has so far been focused on the interplay between technology and social interaction in 2D worlds based on the "Palace" technology. I will present an example of the type of empirical material that I am using and the research questions that has emerged from my initial studies.

Andreas Lund: Impressions from the workshop Computation for Metaphor, Analogy and Agents, April 6 – 10, Aizu-Waka-matsu, Japan

During the seminar I will present an overall impression from the workshop Computation for Metaphor, Analogy and Agents (April 6-10, Aizu-Wakamatsu, Japan).

The range of subjects covered at the workshop varied from analysis of a two hundred year old Haiku, to robotics at MIT Artificial Intelligence Lab. At the seminar I will discuss what these and other - seemingly - disparate subjects have in common.

Välkommna!
