Biology, Cognition, Language and Society: An International Symposium on Autopoiesis Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) Belo Horizonte, Brazil 18 - 21 November 1997

An International Symposium on Autopoiesis -- the first major conference dedicated to the subject in 5 years -- The focus of this symposium will be the work of Humberto Maturana and Francisco Varela. Both Maturana and Varela are scheduled to appear at this symposium -- a rare event! The symposium programme will address both issues of theory and practical applications of autopoietic theory. This will be the first international symposium focusing on autopoiesis since the Dublin City University Autopoiesis and Perception conference in August 1992.
