Thomas Ahlmark: Computers and Individuals - a Personality View of HCI
As computer technology enters most areas of human life, the users of this technology reflect a large variety in age, profession, educational status, interests, and individual preferences. These differences between users, and categories of users, put new demands on our understanding of the particular problems encountered by users, and what software qualities are needed to meet these problems in order to take them into account in software development.
The seminar will present the basic ideas and background to the focus of my thesis, some preliminary findings, and plans for future work.
