Åke Grönlund: The SAMIT project

Abstract:

The seminar will introduce and briefly discuss the SAMIT project.

The purpose of the SAMIT project is to design IT support for public service at Citizen Offices and in the home. More specifically, the goals are:

• To simplify the citizens' contacts with the public sector.
• To effectivize the dialogue between citizens and the public sector for the double purpose of increasing the quality of the services offered and increasing citizen knowledge about the public sector, and
• To make information flows more efficient.

Three protoypes will be demonstrated in early Autumn 1995. There are three prototypes being built:

1."HemSAMIT", delivering public services to the home.

2."DistansSAMIT", providing citizen offices with specialist support over a distance.

3."LärSAMIT", providing tools for managing and supervising discussions over the network. The swedish version.
