Kei Hoshi, Department of Informatics:
Bridging the Reality Gap across Physical and Media Space In the seminar, Kei Hoshi will briefly present his design career in such diverse countries as Italy, Japan and the U.S. and will present his current project here in Sweden.
Kei holds an M.Des from the institute of Design at the Illinois Institute of Technology, U.S., and a B.S. in product design from Kyoto Institute of Technology, Japan, and has over 10 years of experience in product design and interaction design.
While working for A/V and telecommunication equipment manufacturer Kenwood, Kei worked in teams developing the Home Theater System, designed many interactive systems including DVD system, interactive remote controller for home theater systems and home audio equipment. He also had the opportunity to work at Isao Hosoe Design in Milan, Italy, where he learned about emotional user-centered design with reflection of cultural context. He further developed knowledge and skills in human-centered design through research projects at IIT Institute of Design.
Kei focuses on the creation of interactive products and systems. He will present his ongoing research work, which is centred on his interest in bridging the reality gap across physical space and media space.
